2014-2015 A Fantastic Year Ahead!

So many changes ahead for us all.  New teachers, new bus barns, new classes, and new students!  What an exciting year this will be for everyone!
We are so excited to welcome Mrs. Moran in 2nd grade, Mrs. Burns will be teaching 1st grade, Ms. Hedrick will be teaching Kindergarten, Ms. Ticknor will be teaching 3rd & 4th grade, with Mrs. Schnitzmeier teaching 5th & 6th grade and Ms. Nalewaja will be teaching 3rd & 5th math, P.E., and G.T. classes this year!
We ordered 10 more iPads for our school this year bringing our total to 55 iPads.  It isn't quite a 1:1 ratio for our students but we are continuing to work toward reaching that goal!  We are so pleased to provide the opportunity for our students to stride confidently into the future of education enhanced by the possibilities that technology has to offer in their academic exploration!
I am working with the PTA, love our PTA, to plan and present many fun family events this year.  Please join us for the fun, laughter, and sharing!
Speaking of the PTA, please remember to join our organization.  We meet the 2nd Monday of every month at 5:00 p.m. in my room, Mrs. Russell's room.  It is a vital group of people that help provide so many opportunities for our students and staff members.  Please join us and be a part of this integral group!
There are new books in our library and our upcoming book buying trip in October will add many more!  Please give me your input on new books you would like to see in the library or series you would like to see continued!

The 'New' Face of Pioneer!

The 2013-2014 school year is off to a fabulous start!  We are excited to announce we have acquired 40+ iPads for our staff and students to use in accessing the world of opportunities available  through technology!  Mrs. Schnitzmeier and myself continue to fundraise in order to supplement and enhance our technological possibilities for our students.
The iPads have been wonderful for me to use in STAR, MAP, and AR testing.  We can now test 20 students at a time using these incredibly effective and efficient devices.  The students absolutely 'love' the interactive and user-friendly iPads as they explore the educational world discovering a myriad of new options!
I have planned, with the generous support and encouragement of our PTA, many great family events and activities for this year.  We will have the fall and spring Barnes & Noble fundraiser with lots of prizes, the annual Chili Cook-Off, the annual Pancake Breakfast, possibly another great Christmas Event,  and the annual Box Social event!  So many great activities and events to share!  I hope to see everyone there!
