YOU ARE INVITED!

The Barnes & Noble Fall fundraiser (can you say FUN and PARTY!) is coming soon! It will be on Saturday, October 30th, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Barnes & Noble!
We have so many utterly fantastic activities planned! Some of the activities include:
  • Carved Pumpkin contest: Bring a carved pumpkin from home and put it in the line-up of pumpkins to be judged! There will be Barnes & Noble giftcards given out as prizes.
  • Kindergarten Create-a-Scarecrow contest: Our Kindergarten class will create a life-size scarecrow (with the help of their parents and Ms. George) and bring them in to be judged. The winners will receive Barnes & Noble giftcards as prizes.
  • Costume contest: Come in your exciting Halloween costumes and line up for the judges. The winners will receive Barnes & Noble giftcards as prizes.
  • Mrs. Russell (or some of our older students) will narrate THE BALLOON FARM and we may possibly have student volunteers acting out the parts! Ooh, we all love a 'production!'
  • THINK-FUN games: There will be several games with prizes (great Think-Fun games) given out to the winners.
  • FACE-PAINTING: Get your favorite 'face' on for the day, courtesty of Mrs. Palmieri and friends!

Other exciting games, activities, and contests to be announced!

All you have to do is either pick up a voucher (from Mrs. Russell), a label that states "I'm with Pioneer School", or tell the cashier you are "with Pioneer School" and we will receive a donation from Barnes & Noble for everything you buy at Barnes & Noble that day! It even counts in the cafe!

It will cost you ABSOLUTELY NOTHING but provides lasting benefits for our school and your children since I use the donation from Barnes & Noble to purchase NEW and EXCITING library books!

I am looking forward to visiting with you all and having a GREAT TIME together!

If you have any questions, please call me at the school: 373-5357

And...THE RACE IS ON!

Yep! Another school year has begun and we are racing (pacing ourselves, of course) to the finish line! We have goals to reach and expectations to meet before the school year is done! I am so excited to see you all again and hear of your summer adventures!
I am SUPER excited to visit about my favorite thing of all time...NEW BOOKS! We have a few we purchased after school was out but coming up soon will be our fall 'Book Buying Trip' to Barnes and Noble! I can hardly wait! I have been researching new releases and titles that will be available soon and, oh my goodness, there are so many great new books coming out!
We will have two fundraisers just for the library this fall. The first one is starting next Friday, September 3rd, and that is the QSP magazine fundraiser. This is a short fundraiser that will go towards new books on our spring 'Book Buying Trip'.
On Saturday, October 30, we will be putting on our big Barnes & Noble fundraiser. We are going to have absolutely oodles of contests and activities with great prizes provided by our ever supportive PTA. There will be pumpkin carving contests, costume contests, scavenger hunts, skits, face-painting and games! It will be a blast and hopefully bring in additional funds for our spring 'Book Buying Trip'!
I plan on organizing several Family Events this year. We will have the Pancake Breakfast, as always, but I am thinking about another Dragon Mask event, Snowmen, Cookies, & Cocoa event, maybe a Chili Cookoff event, and our end of the year Box Social event. I am going to keep thinking and planning to come up with a few more surprises throughout the school year, so keep posted and posting to our blog!
Several students stopped and picked up a blank book to create a Summer Adventures & Memories journal to share with me before taking home as a lasting memento. I thoroughly enjoyed looking through and reading Austin's journal and look forward to reading Hunter's (he is nearly finished with his too) next week. Be sure and stop in to show me your journals as you complete them!
I am looking forward seeing everyone at Open House on Thursday, September 9th, here at the school. Stop by my room and chat with me!

UPCOMING EVENTS! FUN, FUN, AND MORE FUN!!!

PANCAKE BREAKFAST: Friday, February 19th: 7:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.

Our annual pancake breakfast will be the first upcoming event! Mrs. Russell will be serving milk, orange juice, coffee and making sure there is plenty of butter and syrup for our plain or blueberry pancakes! Mr. Russell and Mr. Seavy will be mixing and flipping oodles and oodles of hot delicious pancakes!
Come join us, and your friends, for a wonderful morning of laughter, visiting, and pancakes on your way to work!
I look forward to seeing all of you!
Be sure and thank one of the PTA members for purchasing all the ingredients for us!

BARNES AND NOBLE BOOKFAIR: Saturday, March 13th: 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Barnes and Noble bookstore

Our annual Barnes and Noble bookfair will be our second upcoming event! This bookfair raises money to purchase new books for our school library! It is a fun-filled event with lots of activities and prizes for our students! We will have Mrs. Palmieri and Mrs. Middendorf providing their 'awesome' face painting again! We will have two scavenger hunts: one for K-3 and one for 4-6; a costume contest (come as your favorite story character!); and LOTS of Think-Fun games!
This is a super easy way to add to our school library! All people have to do when they purchase any books, magazines, or food at Barnes and Noble is tell the cashier, "I'm with Pioneer School!" and they will make sure that we recieve a percentage of the purchase price; however it will add NOTHING to your cost!
If you have any questions, or would like to help us at this event, please feel free to call me at the school!
